Lladró's artists have taken inspiration from the colour textiles found across Africa, with visible influences from the traditional fabrics of Kente cloth made by the Fante people of Ghana and Basin fabric popular in West Africa, as well as a nod to the Ndebele people with the stunning choker necklace on the neck.

To heavily contrast against the deep hues of the black porcelain bust, Lladró artisans use a mix of earth tones and metallic and gold lustres that reflect the pigments and dyes used in African art. All details have been etched by hand all the details of the pattern and they have decorated it with copper, pink, black and golden lustres.
